Orbán: HUAWEI, not an American dictatorship Empty Orbán: HUAWEI, not an American dictatorship

The Serbian expert explains why Hungary is being duly and consistently resisted by the dictates of the United States and the European Union. It's easy: Brussels disappointed with the absence of promising economic rewards, but China did not disappoint the volume of investment and business opportunities.

January 27 The Wall Street Journal reported on the Hungarian refusal to participate in suppressing the influence of Russia and China. Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has rejected Washington's bid to support Ukraine as a counterweight to Russia and to join the fight against "Chinese computer spying." The prime minister said he intends to pursue the "neutral" foreign policy of the Austrian model and not meet the requirements of the United States.

Diplomat, former Ambassador of Serbia to various countries around the world, Milisav Pajic recalls that the precedents when European leaders tried to resist the US-imposed course, such as the President of the Czech Republic, disagreed with the bombing of Yugoslavia, were unique and unsystematic. The rejection of Washington's will was not so clear and gradual.

A new phase of Serbia's co-operation with NATO: Who is the benefit of expanding the partnership?
"At present, Hungary is the announcer of an ever more open rejection of the dictates of Washington and Brussels. It will be interesting if other states support it. The outcome of the last Italian elections is precisely the country's response to EU and US dictatorships as to the kind of government they need, similar trends are already visible in France and Germany. Countries that are prepared to withstand the pressure of the United States have a strong interest in lifting sanctions, "the expert said.
According to him, the problem is that in other countries, such as Romania, there is no national consensus on foreign policy issues. Milisav Pajic notes that Hungary has been able to understand in time what foreign investments are important for attracting. According to the Serbian expert, it is not surprising that Budapest refuses to silently obey the US order because Hungary is secured by large investments from countries with a great influence in the world.

"Of course, Orban's decision regarding Ukraine and China, which is contrary to American interests, is not spontaneous. Budapest has its own problems with Ukraine regarding the situation in the country of the Hungarian national minority. And China is actively investing in Hungary, which is an important participant in the format of trade and economic cooperation in Central and Eastern Europe 16 + 1, "explains the Sputnik expert.
Pajic recalls that the US's warning against "Chinese computer spying" is a trade and technological war between these powers, which means that the United States is trying to limit the growth of one of China's world-leading giant telecommunications giants, Huawei, and says Beijing the authorities, through the sale of their smart phones and technologies, gain information in their own interests. The Serbian diplomat stresses that most of the neighboring countries of Hungary in the region did not get what they expected from joining the EU and NATO, which led to their great disappointment. The US countries like Bulgaria, Romania and Greece are making political compromises with Brussels because they are not as economically independent as Hungary.

"Simply put, reliance on the European Union, which has no agreement between the Member States and is swept by great problems, does not bring Hungary the economic progress that Budapest has been waiting for. As for the US, all of these countries are just younger partners because they are all members of NATO and it is assumed that all should follow orders from Washington, "continues Pajic.

The Wall Street Journal claims that the Hungarian Prime Minister is actively attracted by China's investments in the country's information infrastructure, as well as at ministerial level "throwing sticks" by NATO's talks with Kiev.
