Rozenfeld je rekao da su požari izbili pre tri dana u mestu Neve Šalom kraj Jerusalima, gde Jevreji i Arapi žive zajedno, a kasnije su zahvatili i sever Izraela kraj Zihron Jakova i druga mesta kraj Jeruaslima, gde je oštećeno stotine domova.

Kipar, Rusija i Italija pomažu izraelskim vatrogascima opremom dok požari i dalje besne.

Izraelski premijer Benjamin Netanjahu u sredu je razgovarao sa liderima Grčke i Hrvatske, zamolivši ih da pomognu da se vatra ugasi. Ovo su najveći požari u Izraelu posle 2010. godine, kada je poginulo 44 ljudi.

"Pitao sam za momentalno povećanje zahteva za avionima", rekao je Netanjahu, obilazeći u sredu sever Izraela, podsetivši da je za veme požara pre šest godina desetine aviona iz inostranstva pomoglo u gašenju.


"Danas pošto imamo svoju eskadrilu potreba nije velika, ali ćemo tražiti nekoliko aviona od naših suseda", najavio je izraelski premijer.

In 2011 Israel first contracted for seven single engine air tankers, Air Tractor AT 802s, supplied by Elbit Systems and Chim Nir Flight Services. Now they are adding to the fleet and will have a total of 14.
Elbit Systems announced on January 5, 2015, that it was awarded an approximately $100 million contract from the Israeli Ministry of Defense (IMOD) to procure six new firefighting aircraft and operate the firefighting squadron, which will consist of a total of fourteen aircraft, including eight aircraft previously procured by Elbit Systems. The contract, to be performed over an eight-year period, also covers flight hours, infrastructure upgrade, maintenance, airstrip operation, handling of fire retardants and other aspects of operating the squadron.
The firefighting aircraft, manufactured by Air Tractor, are single-engine aircraft, capable of carrying approximately 3,000 liters (792 US gallons) of water and flying three hours without refueling.
Bezhalel (Butzi) Machlis, President and CEO of Elbit Systems commented: “We are very proud to be selected for this opportunity to harness our professional capabilities and vast experience to the collective efforts of protecting Israel’sresidents and natural landscape”.
The Elad firefighting squadron was founded four years ago following the Mount Carmel forest fire and is named after Elad Riben, the fire scout that was killed in this fire. Since then, Elbit Systems has been cooperating with the IAF, firefighting units, the Jewish National Fund and the Israel Nature and Parks Authority in developing the squadron’s operational procedures and qualifying designated airstrips. The aircraft will be flown by CHIM-NIR’s pilots, the project’s subcontractor.
Since its inauguration in 2011, the firefighting squadron has performed over 4,600 missions, accumulated over 2,500 flight hours and has helped extinguish over 500 potentially destructive fires across the country, providing a prompt and professional solution.
Elbit Systems is developing a system for fighting wildfires by dropping small bags of liquid from a helicopter or cargo plane. The idea is that the bags would break upon impact and slow the spread of the fire.

The Israeli Ministry of Defense has recently taken delivery of six more Air Tractor AT-802F air tankers as a part of a multi-million dollar contract with Elbit Systems Ltd., the company contracted to operate the country’s firefighting squadron under the command of the Israeli Air Force. With these new aircraft in its firefighting fleet there are now 14 Air Tractor single engine air tankers in active operation across Israel.
The story of this firefighting squadron begins in early December 2010, when the Israeli Air Force, the most combat-experienced air service in the Middle East, found itself on the losing side of a new kind of battle: wildfire. The massive fire began north of Haifa in the Mount Carmel Forest and spread quickly. Before it could be controlled and extinguished four days later it had consumed much of the Mediterranean forest covering the region, forced the evacuation of 17,000 inhabitants, and claimed 44 lives — making it the deadliest forest fire in Israeli history.

The human and environmental tragedy of the Mount Carmel forest fire brought home to the Israeli people and their government a stark, new awareness of the nation’s overall lack of readiness in combating the dangerous wildfires that have become more frequent following years of unseasonably high temperatures and prolonged drought. A response came quickly in the establishment of the Elad Firefighting Squadron. 
Named in honor of Elad Riven, a sixteen-year-old Fire Scout volunteer who died tragically while battling the Mount Carmel wildfire, the Elad Firefighting Squadron was officially launched by Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu in May 2011. As a part of his remarks, the Prime Minister spoke directly to the young man’s grieving family when he said, “We salute you and the wonderful son you raised. One cannot always say about a boy who was taken after 16 years that he leaves us a legacy, but we can say it in the case of Elad—a legacy of infinite devotion to nation and state, a legacy of purity of heart and of clear, simple heroism.” Elad Riven was the youngest fatality of the Mount Carmel wildfire.
Since its inaugural flights in 2011, the Elad Riven Squadron of AT-802Fs has completed more than 4,600 missions, accumulated more than 2,500 flight hours, and helped extinguish more than 500 forest fires and wildfires throughout Israel.

The squadron’s AT-802F air tankers are manufactured by Air Tractor Inc., at its Olney, Texas manufacturing facility. Designed from the ground up for aerial firefighting duties, the AT-802F combines agility, performance, high reliability, and computer-precise accuracy.
The AT-802F ’s Pratt & Whitney Canada turbine engine gives the aircraft ample power to nimbly maneuver in hot, high elevations and fly at speeds approaching 200 mph. That speed, combined with the flexibility to operate from remote strips, dirt roads, or small airports near the fire, allows the AT-802F to make a major impact on a fire very rapidly.
A fast, high-volume loading system shortens turnaround times and makes it possible for the 802F to take on a full 820-gallon (3,100-liter) load and return to the air in as little as five minutes. Once over the fire line, the AT-802F can deliver a payload of retardant, foam, or water with extreme accuracy. The AT-802F's agility and maneuverability in rugged terrain allows it to provide critical support to the overall firefighting effort by filling in gaps in the fireline and by making drops into deep ravines, narrow flight corridors and wildland-urban interface areas. Speaking shortly after a May 2011 wildfire in Jerusalem Forest, the Elad Squadron’s commanding officer Lieutenant Colonel Rami stated that, “The smoke gave police and firefighters on the ground a lot of trouble, and that's why our planes made such a significant contribution. This is an event that could have continued well into the night had it not been for our firefighting aircraft."
Elbit Systems' operational contract with the Israeli Ministry of Defense will be performed over an eight-year period, and covers flight hours, infrastructure upgrades, maintenance, airstrip operation, handling of fire retardants and other aspects of operating the fleet of firebombers. The aircraft are flown by pilots of CHIM-¬NIR Group, an Israel-based specialized flying services subcontractor.

DVA KANADERA iz sastava Protupožarne eskadrile 93. zrakoplovne baze Hrvatskoga ratnog zrakoplovstva i protuzračne obrane (HRZ i PZO) poletjela su iz vojarne Zemunik u Izrael kako bi, u okviru međunarodne humanitarne pomoći, gasili velike šumske požare u sjevernom i središnjem Izraelu.

"Uz humanitarnu dimenziju i razvijenu sposobnost postrojbe za pružanjem pomoći u drugim zemljama, ta misija pridonosi i promociji ugleda i sposobnosti Oružanih snaga i Republike Hrvatske u svijetu. Odmah po dolasku u izraelsku bazu u kasnim popodnevnim satima očekuje nas prvi sastanak i upoznavanje sa situacijom na požarištima te dodjela konkretnih zadaća. Apsolutno smo spremni i ovaj put pomoći izraelskom narodu u gašenju i saniranju požarišta", naglasio je zapovjednik Protupožarne eskadrile pukovnik Davor Turković.

U izraelsku zračnu bazu Hatzor otišli su i članovi posada i zrakoplovno-tehničkog osoblja pukovnik Goran Vlahović te bojnici Tomislav Slavica i Željko Žugaj.

To je drugi put da hrvatske zračne protupožarne snage pružaju pomoć u gašenju požara u Izraelu. Prvi angažman bio je od 4. do 8. prosinca 2010.

Za iskazanu spremnost u pružanju pomoći državi Izraelu i izraelskom narodu 2010. na primanju kod tadašnjeg izraelskog predsjednika Shimona Peresa, kojem je nazočio i  premijer Benjamin Netanyahu, hrvatskim posadama dodijeljeno je Priznanje države Izrael.

Zadnji inozemni angažman protupožarne snage imale su u Portugalu 2013. gdje su u gašenju požara također sudjelovala dva kanadera.

Pa neće valjda Egipat zvati...ili Tursku, pa da im još podjaruju vatru umjesto da je gase.

Da, uistinu bi bilo jadno da nam Židovi pomažu, ipak smo mi goji, a Židovi si pomažu samo međusobno.

Ajd, ne seri. Da je imao taktičkih pogrješakah, imao je, ali da je bio protiv hrvatske neovisnosti je potpuna budalaština. Zbog Tuđmanove suverenističke politike velesile su držale Hrvatsku u tihoj izolaciji.

Drago mi je da pomažemo gdje možemo i komu možemo.

POSADE dvaju protupožarnih aviona CL-415 93. zrakoplovne baze Hrvatskog ratnog zrakoplovstva i protuzračne obrane u 8.15 sati započele su sa gašenjem velikih šumskih požara koji ugrožavaju naseljena mjesta u Državi Izrael.
Odluku o pružanju humanitarne pomoći Državi Izrael u gašenju požara donijela je Vlada RH 23. studenog 2016., a na prijedlog potpredsjednika Vlade i ministra obrane Damira Krstičevića, nakon što je izraelski premijer Benjamin Netanyahu zatražio pomoć.
Uz dva aviona u Izrael je 24. studenog 2016. odletjelo 14 članova posade i zrakoplovno tehničkog osoblja predvođeno kapetanima pukovnicima Davorom Turkovićem i Goranom Vlahovićem i bojnicima Tomislavom Slavicom i Željkom Žugajem.
Posada je smještena u vojnoj bazi Hatzor u središnjem Izraelu koja se nalazi u blizini planinskih područja u kojima bjesne veliki šumski požari.
