Experts from the National research technological University "MISIS" (Russia) and the National Institute for quantum Sciences and radiology (Japan) have developed a material that allows to significantly increase the capacity of solid state drives, and flash drives. In addition, it solves the main problem of these drives — limit rewriting.

Today, the traditional storage devices such as USB flash drive or external hard drive based on the method of transmission of information by means of electric current. While from time to time, users inevitably encounter problems: the file may be recorded incorrectly, the computer can no longer "see" the flash drive and to record large amounts of information require fairly bulky media. A promising alternative to the electronics is considered spintronics where the management transfer of information is realized not only using the charge of electrons, but also with current spins its own angular momentum of electrons.
Developed by Russian and Japanese scientists, the material is able to significantly increase the capacity of magnetic memory by increasing areal density. To create it, the researchers used a combination of graphene and halfmetallic Heusler alloy Co2FeGaGe (cobalt-iron-gallium-germanium).

According to Pavel Sorokin, head of the research group from the Russian side, the uniqueness of their development is that Japanese scientists headed by Dr. Seiji SACEM for the first time managed to layer the graphene with atomic thickness on a layer of semi-metallic ferromagnetic material and measure its properties. Russian specialists are responsible for the theoretical description of the obtained data.
Researcher Konstantin Larionov noted that the feature used in a heterostructure alloy manifests itself in the absolute spin polarization at the Fermi level, which is a prerequisite for use in spintronic devices.

"In the investigated heterostructure graphene does not enter into chemical interaction with magnetic material that allows it to preserve its unique conductive properties," said senior researcher Zakhar Popov.
Earlier in magnetic memory devices is not used graphene, as carbon atoms reacts with the magnetic layer, leading to changes in its properties. Thanks to a selected composition of the Heusler alloy and method of its application international team of scientists have managed to create a more subtle pattern in comparison with the previous analogues. This, in turn, allows to significantly increase the capacity of magnetic memory devices without increasing the physical size.
At the moment, scientists are scaling the experimental sample and the further modification of the structure of the element.

Slabi cipovi,vjerovatno neke jeftine kopije..
Najbolji su SanDiskovi i Intel..
