But "responsive desire" is different, and more common among women. In this situation, interest only emerges in response to arousal. Think: A man goes to kiss his wife, and she's in the mood for the first time all week. "Roughly 70 percent of men typically experience spontaneous desire and something like 10 to 20 percent of women have spontaneous desire as their primary desire style," Nagoski says. "But for all of us it depends on the context."
